I noticed something weird today. And by “weird” I don't mean something like my sister decided to dress up like Lady Gaga again and dance around the house (thankfully). The thing I noticed is actually pretty confusing to explain. Now, I'm known to be a bit of a drama queen (or in my case a drama king) so I'll probably get laughed off if I try to explain it to anybody which is why I'm writing about it instead. A journal seems safer than talking to a living person. As long as nobody goes snooping around my room and finds this I should be good. Anyways, I think that's enough blabbering. Let me tell you about today.

So at my school we have our big sports field, right? At class today I couldn't help but notice it looked a bit smaller. Like somebody took a chunk out of it or something. Of course, I'm not very familiar with the sports ground (I'm not too into the whole “kick a ball around and get dirty” thing) so it's quite possible I just thought it was bigger than it actually is. I'll ask Duncan tomorrow.

I flipped the book shut, glancing at the lock attached to the side. It was small and easily breakable but I still reached for the key laying on my bedside table, listening as it gave a satisfying click as I twisted the key in. I slipped it back into it's drawer and under some clothes so it was less likely to be found, like always. I don't think anyone in my family actually knew I owned a diary, much less wrote in it frequently. God forbid my sister knew. She was eight, so she was at the perfect age to form opinions based on what others tell her and spout about them to me obnoxiously. And knowing her friends, a boy keeping a diary is exactly the type of thing they'd call “stupid” and “gay”. It was better for everybody that my personal journal was kept hidden.

I glanced at the clock sitting on my nightstand, realizing it was later than I had thought. Almost 10:30 PM. So with as little noise as possible I crept over to my dresser, throwing my current clothes across the room on top of my laundry hamper (which was looking a bit messy as of recently. I should probably put the clothes inside it rather than on top.) and changed into a pair of night clothes. I then quickly left the room to check on my sister. Since she's only eight (well, nine nowadays.) I can't always be certain she will do what's asked of her and it wasn't uncommon for her to stay up later than allowed. She was meant to go to bed at 9:00 PM and I was meant to go to bed at no later than 12:00 PM. As I approached her bedroom door at the end of the hall I remembered what was coming up in just two days. She was turning nine on the seventh this month. I would have gotten her a gift but I was broke. She'd just have to accept a simple“happy birthday” from me. I cracked her door open, noticing the darkness of the room. I barely made out her sleeping form on the bed. With a content smile I shut the door and proceeded back to my room, shut out the light, and crawled under the covers.

Glancing out the window I saw a flash of white light, so quick I wondered if I had actually seen it or not. “A shooting star?” I murmured to myself. I was meant to make a wish now, right? “Alright. Let's see...” I wondered for a moment, not sure what to wish for. The memory of my sister's birthday returned and I knew. “Let her birthday go well. Don't let her cry, or be disappointed. I'll feel bad if it goes poorly.” I finished, rolling over so my back was to the window. Darkness slowly came to me as I drifted off.
Guess who decided to finally upload Midnight Thief chapters? That's right, it's meeee. I won an award for these silly things. Be proud c: Sorry, most chapters are very short. I may also need to do some font editing.

I'll just spam upload the chapters for now. Sorry, watchers! Forgive me for this!
